Ninety-six square metres facing south-west, with 7.2 m of glazing in three leaves that stack entirely into the wall, and a plunge pool of 4.2 × 2.9 m set into the open terrace. The rung where the sea enters the view and the water becomes yours.

Where the sea arrives
Two bedrooms, one long opening, and water that is only yours
A living volume 3.6 m high at its apex, a principal bedroom of 23.4 m², a second of 15.2 m², two bathrooms, and a 27 m² apron of open travertine with a pool cut into it.
The Atlantic Suites stand on the outer line of the pavilions, where the ground falls towards the ridge. That is the only reason the sea is in the view: from the terrace a continuous band of Atlantic sits above the ridge line and occupies about the upper third of what you can see, and from the principal bed, sitting up, it sits just above the parapet. Dune grass and two or three wind-cut pines take the rest. That is the published definition of the aspect, and it is deliberately not the sentence a brochure would write.
The second reason to take this rung is that the opening doubles. Three sliding leaves of 7.2 m by 2.8 m all travel into the same wall pocket, so with the suite open there is no frame anywhere across the width — the living room and the loggia become one 53 m² room, 4.2 m of it under cover. Above the dining table a roof light of 900 mm brings the sun down vertically at midday, which is the one hour the slatted canopy keeps off the terrace.
The third is the pool. It measures 4.2 × 2.9 m, is 1.35 m deep across its whole floor, holds 16.4 m³, and has a bench at 0.45 m along its long side. It is heated to 30 °C from 1 October to 31 May and left at ambient from June to September, and it is counted separately from the nine bodies of water on the estate, because this one is not shared with anybody.
There are 14 of them, which makes this the scarcest pavilion type.
Atlantic Suite, plan at 1:100
North-up, dimensioned in millimetres, with the pool shown in plan and in section at the terrace edge. Walls solid, glazing as a double line.
Interior 96 m² to the inside face of the plaster, in six parts. Terrace 48 m², of which 21 m² is covered loggia at 4.2 m deep and 27 m² open paving. The pool is inside the 48 m², not added to it.
- 1
Entry, dressing and utility, 6.9 m²
A walnut bench, 3.4 m of hanging rail behind two sliding panels, eight drawers, the safe at 420 × 350 × 300 mm, and a utility cupboard with a drying rail and the pool towels.
- 2
Living and dining, 32.0 m²
A linen sofa of 3.2 m, two armchairs, a travertine table for six, and the 900 mm roof light directly over it. Ceiling 3.1 m at the walls and 3.6 m at the apex.
- 3
Principal bedroom, 23.4 m²
One bed of 200 × 210 cm on a walnut platform, facing the glazing rather than the wall, so the sea band is visible from the pillow when you are sitting up.
- 4
Second bedroom, 15.2 m²
Two beds of 100 × 200 cm that join into one of 200 × 200 cm. A slot window faces the courtyard rather than the dune, which is why this is the room children sleep in through a bright evening.
- 5
Principal bathroom, 12.5 m²
A bath of 1 900 × 900 mm cut from one block of travertine, a shower of 1 400 × 1 000 mm, twin basins on a 2.6 m walnut console, and the WC in its own compartment.
- 6
Second bathroom, 6.0 m²
A shower of 1 000 × 1 000 mm with a 300 mm rain head, one basin on a 1.2 m console, a WC, and a door to the terrace so the pool does not come through the suite.
- 7
The sliding wall, 7.2 × 2.8 m
Three leaves, all into one pocket. Open, the living room and the loggia read as a single room of 53 m² with no frame standing in the middle of it.
- 8
Plunge pool, 4.2 × 2.9 m
1.35 m deep throughout, 16.4 m³, lined in a dark basalt aggregate so the water reads green rather than blue. Bench at 0.45 m along the long side; a bronze step at the shallow corner.

Four points in the day
What the suite is actually like
At seven in the morning a south-west suite has no sunrise, and that is the point: the light arrives off the dune as a flat even wash, the sea band goes from grey to silver in about twenty minutes, and the pool is the warmest thing on the terrace between October and May. Most people swim first and get dressed afterwards.
At one in the afternoon the loggia is shaded across all 4.2 m of its depth and the roof light over the dining table is the only direct sun indoors — a square of it on the travertine that moves the length of the table during lunch. The slats are pitched at 22°, which turns away a June sun standing 75° up and lets a December sun of 28° through to the floor.
At eight in the evening the suite does the thing it was oriented for. The sun sets into the view from this terrace every single day of the year, swinging between 242° on the shortest day and 298° on the longest — a span of 56° along the horizon that you can watch travel across a season if you come back. In July the glazing is open, the fire bowl is unlit, and the pool is at whatever the day made it.
At eleven at night the pool light is on from one side only, the fire bowl is down to embers, and the louvre blind is set so the sea band is still visible from the bed. The ridge keeps the surf at a low continuous level. In February the pool is 30 °C and steaming and the sea beyond it is 15 °C, which is the whole argument for building the water the way we did.

Fourteen of these exist
It is the type that goes first, and the one worth naming when you write. Tell us the dates and whether the second bedroom should be made up as twins or as a king, and we will tell you which of the 14 is free and what stands in front of it. Enquiries are answered in writing by someone on the estate, at [email protected].
