The arrival court at dusk: a long lime-washed wall, bronze pivot doors standing open and a still reflecting pool running the length of the court.

How the rate is built

The rate calendar is published, not searched for

Most resorts make you guess a price by trying dates until one is cheap. Dunara prints the calendar instead: four bands, one multiplier each, applied to the suite's low-season rate.

The multipliers are 1.00 in low season, 1.15 in shoulder, 1.45 in high and 1.85 in peak. Low season runs 16 November to 15 March. Shoulder runs 16 March to 15 May, and again 1 October to 15 November. High season runs 16 May to 14 July, and the whole of September. Peak is 15 July to 31 August.

Each night is priced in its own band, so a stay that crosses 1 September is charged part high and part shoulder and the breakdown shows both lines separately. The minimum stay is two nights in every band, including low season.

The estate charge is €34 per suite per night. It covers the nine bodies of water and the towel service, the Athletic Club and its forty classes a week, the four surveyed running routes, the estate bicycles, and the boardwalk over the ridge to the beach. Service is included in every figure on this site.

A child between three and twelve is €45 a night. A cot for a child under three is listed under extras and carries no charge. An adult beyond the number a suite includes is €95 a night, where the suite can take one. Tax is added at the Portuguese accommodation rate of 6 per cent.
